Starbucks Corp. closing 600 underperforming stores. The Seattle-based premium coffee company Starbucks Corp. announced that it will be closing 600 underperforming stores in the United States. On top of that they also announced that they’ll be opening a few more company-operated stores by 2009 and would accommodate those employees affected by the previous closure.
