Politics 2.0: Social Media Campaign For NoyNoy Aquino Goes to oDesk
By Rodelio LagahitPolitics 2.0: Social Media Campaign For NoyNoy Aquino Goes to oDesk – great find “CertifiedFreelance.com.”
Politics has really caught up with Social Media and this is what I call “Politics 2.0.”- simply pushing “Politics” existence in our social media profiles of which Facebook and Twitter are the most abused social media tools nowadays.
If I’m mistaken, this is one of the reasons why budgets allocated for traditional media (news paper and print ads) nose-dived. Well, you really can’t blame their respective Strategist since it’s pretty obvious that everyone is now already wasting their time exploring the wonders of social media. In fact, other Strategist are allocating huge investments on Google AdWords – keywords based advertising. If I’m not mistaken, a few of them are already purchasing “disgusting & (or) rude keywords” just to protect their respective candidates.

Now, what are other candidates are doing? Check this out, Noynoy Aquino Supporters went to oDesk to hire freelancers to help them push their online campaign. That’s not new, but darn, I was just amazed that they’ve resorted to asking freelances for a few cents to help their social media campaign. Where’s their large fan base? Ain’t they bragging that they have the largest fans in their Facebook fan page? Now this gets a bit ironic.
Actually, I’m interested of pushing “Gibo’” but I guess the guys behind their social media campaign ain’t interested of my social media mediocre know-how. With a total network of 10,000 Filipinos on top of 142,000.00+ Facebook fans? What could that do?
Lastly, I’m really impressed at how these guys exploit social media, from creating social-oriented focus groups and youth-friendly initiatives, all of which are just darn wonderful to hear and see. But, would this initiative last long? Would there be programs to reinforce such initiative when election is over? That I doubt…
Now, think again…
