So let’s talk about Facebook, Silicon Valley’s sexiest Company – Google is of course the hottest Company in the Valley – and how to make the most out of its Apps to your advantage. May it be politics, online marketing or crowdsourcing, Facebook’s Apps such “fan pages/clubs” is indeed the tool for you.

As for the background of Facebook,  is a global social networking website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc., To date, Facebook has over 300 million registered users and still growing at a rate which has never been seen and felt before.

Now, the meat for this post…

In brief, these are the basic steps I’ve followed on how I acquired 106,000++ (still  growing) members in one niche fan page in Facebook.

1. First, you have to have that drive. What actually keeps me going is the story behind the success of Coca Cola fan page. As we all know, the Coca Cola story has been a constant subject on how to manage your BRAND inside Facebook.
2. Next, you need to have a niche idea backed by a solid website updated regularly. It’s not just about web 2.0 wherein you engage with your readers but you have to link everything from your blogs/sites to your Facebook account, Twitter and Linkedin to get a really big traffic stream.
3. Now don’t forget the badge because this is the killer app you have to use. Place the badge in your sites/blogs visible enough for readers to become a fan.
4. Work on your SEO. This is the most important thing that you should never neglect. Optimize your sites/blogs with the “keyword” that your niche is talking about to get targeted traffic.
5. Now let’s advertise. Facebook’s new advertising tool is cool – targeted. If you have the budget, go for it because it’s ONE of the ways on how to get fans and members. Not in your budget? Don’t worry, there are other ways on how to double the traffic still. Go talk to blog owners who talk about your niche and ask if you can place your Facebook badge on his blog in exchange for banners or reviews. Simple eh?
