Targeted SEO Basics

Optimizing websites or blogs has been a tricky & continuous process. In fact, it’s one of the sought after expertise for companies who has been putting up businesses online. For marketing & sales reason companies have been spending thousands on SEO/SEM efforts just to leverage visibility.

To bloggers it’s also a challenging and very rewarding one. Its impact of the rewards brought by SEO efforts are felt on what’s the sole reason why you are optimizing your site. Is it for money or you just wanted to learn SEO & SEM to its highest level? If you’re to ask me complimenting SEO/SEM with highly positioned affiliate programs makes my heart beat.

Anyway, to cut the boring story short allow me to give you a few SEO basics of which I believed to be functional and effective. For the record nobody knows how Google Algo works so don’t be deceived because all this pro and newbies are just doing some assumptions. None of it is really accurate but SEO practitioners would highly encourage you to work around for you to get the glimpse of SEO.

Keywords are really the cream of the “crap”. With the right keywords and its usage would be a good advantage to start. So work on the keywords especially on the long tail keywords. Remember Keyword in Title Tag, Keyword in Heading Tags H1, H2, and H3, Keyword in links, Keyword in image file names because this will also help, Keyword in URL the most common together with keywords on the image files, Keyword in Alt Tags.

Moreover, one should also bear in mind that creating is the king. This is also the reason why content should be built with keywords scattered on it. Additionally, keyword prominence also should be noted. The keyword should be close to the beginning in each page area (title and other Meta tags, headings, and paragraphs). For keyword density this indicates the percentage of keywords to the number of text on a page and there are a lot of tools out there that can measure keyword density. Please also check on your keyword frequency wherein the number of times the keyword appears on a page should be limited or should be strategically positioned.

Lastly, use keywords as Anchor text of internal links or off-page optimizations efforts. Don’t just exchange links without anything something beneficial in the long run. I know others just wanted their links visible but using keywords for this links is what makes your site visible to search engines.

Generally, I’ve used this effort to optimize my sites and blogs. Some didn’t make it to the top because high competition while other keywords ranked because of low competition. I would also suggest you join little seo contest to hone your skills in seo. Just like when I joined with Cebu Seo Contest, I’ve managed to nailed a few notches but things went crazy after so many downtimes worst that ended loosing some of my valuable post for the cebu seo contest. Now I’ve have to work my ass again to get back.
