Angel Valodia Matos gets a lifetime banned after kicking ref

Angel Valodia Matos, a Cuban taekwondo jin , has been hit with a lifetime ban at the Olympics after kicking referee Chakir Chelbat of Sweden in the face. On top of that, all records of this athlete at the Beijing Games will immediately be erased. Now thats what you get if you don’t have the so called spirit for this game.

Actually, Angel Matos, who won a gold medal at the 2000 Sydney games, was disqualified for taking too much time on the mat for a leg injury in a bronze medal match against Kazakhstan’s Arman Cilmanav. As per Olympic ruling fighters are only allowed for a minute to get medical attention but unfortunately his time runs out or was it a delaying tactic of Angel.

Cuban coach Leudis Gonzalas also received a lifetime ban.  He alleged the match was fixed and accused Kazakhstan of offering him money.
