University of Northern Iowa Lock down. Actually, University of Northern Iowa lock down has already ended with the suspect in custody. Incident was related to the report by school officials that all the dorms at Dancer Hall were locked down Tuesday afternoon while authorities investigated a report of a gunman planning to confront a student. Jim O’Connor, a university spokesman, says the lock down began after the man’s girlfriend reported the threat to authorities. The university then issued a campus wide alert and advised students to stay away from Dancer Hall, Bender Hall and Towers Center. Fox
