An interview with Wilhelmina the lady behind “Chillaxin’ Time Blog“. A Blogger, webmaster and a Geek in one..
Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, everyone! My name’s Wilhelmina, but most of my American friends call me Wil. But for the Filipinos, I’m Weng. I’m a very talented and unemployed person. Haha. Nah, kidding, I just graduated, that’s why I’m unemployed. I’m about to become one of the Civil Engineering board exam passers in May.
When did you start blogging and why did you want to do so? Any inspirations?
I started my blog a little less than a year ago; it was just for all my random ramblings. You know, just a spot where I could air out my frustrations, but I never actually put tags on those that are much too personal. Inspirations? Nope, I’ve been writing on old notebooks since I was in fifth grade. I write about anything that I wanna write and don’t need to be inspired about it. But truth be told, hmm, I write only when I have the spare time.
Tell us about your blog. What do you write about?
Oh, my blog? Haha, all about random stuff, I wrote a little something about noodles on there. I wrote something about a trip that we did and almost died because of it. I also wrote something about the Lexmark building that’s just getting finished in the
What blogging tools do you use? (wordpress, blogger, typepad, friendster, myspace etc.
The blog that I focused on the most is my Blogger Blog. I do not have WordPress, but I do have a Friendster and MySpace account. The only blog that I wrote on my Friendster account is about editing profiles and that people should turn the Safe Mode off if they plan on editing their profiles. Sorry to say this, but some people are just plain clueless. On my MySpace, I just reposted a chosen few of my entries from my Blogger. Other than that, I have no more blog accounts.
How do you think people can benefit from blogging?
Well, people blog to vent out most of the time. It’s like everybody’s own little hiding place. I’ve always loved to write so I never deleted my blog even when I had the chance to do it. There are a number of ways on how you can benefit from it. One, if you are a serious blogger, you might as well write for cash, right? You can put ads on it, and then all you have to do is make sure that your content is good enough for the ads to “relate” to it. Two, blogging can open opportunities for you. For example, you are a talented graphic artist and have been posting your work on your blog, and then someone comes along and likes your work. This person then contacts you, and well, let’s just say that everything goes pretty well for you after that.
Has blogging changed your life? What do you get out of it?
So far it hasn’t, I’m not actually expecting it to. I get the satisfaction of reading my work and sometimes recall on what I was feeling at the moment I was writing that. I guess I just wanted a place where I can keep my forgotten emotions unforgotten and a place where my memories would never be forgotten as well.
$6.00 Welcome Survey After Free Registration!By blogging, do you make money or intend to do so? Do you think blogging is meant for making money?
No, I don’t make money out of blogging—yet. Yes, I intend on making money from it sometime in the future. I mean, it’s free internet space, your blogs get read by people or possible clients. There’s no harm in making money out of your talents. Blogging is meant for a lot of stuff and making money is just one of them. Many people have already made a lot of money just from writing.
Has your blog helped anyone personally? Can you quote us an instance of how he/she got benefited?
In a way, yes. I remember writing about people being depressed and wanting to commit suicide. I know it’s a very touchy subject, but some people just need to know why some do it or think about doing it. I have taken that particular entry down, because it was just too negative even for me. I think if I’m gonna write about something like that again, I’ll rewrite it to be more informative and not emotional. Anyway, this one person who read it was so touched and felt that she wasn’t alone anymore. She thought that she was the only one feeling depressed and that nobody cared about her. But when she read that, she was thankful of the knowledge that life doesn’t have to be cut short because of setbacks. That no matter how hard the trials that come our way are, there’s still a way to get out of it, and live happily ever after.
Among the blog post you had written so far, please tell us which one you loved most when writing and why did you like it? Please give link.
I loved the Near Death entry. It started out as a fun and excitement-filled entry. It was about going on a school trip and almost ending up dead before we even got home. I liked it because it was extremely detailed, and I remember being really pumped about writing it. I remember feeling thrilled and at the same time very frightened. It was the most exhilarating feeling I’ve ever had in my entire life, so I guess I really would have to go with Near Death.

What is your frequency of blogging? Full time / part time. What makes you do full time / part time?
Part-time only. I like blogging, but I never really had the time until very recently. I’m still not thoroughly sure about going full-time though. Maybe when I’m less busy, I’ll write. I’m a very busy person.
Do you know how many people visit your blog? Do you know what kind of people are they?
I have no idea at all. I think they’re the kinds that are either very bored or looking for good writers.
Do you think that a blog can make a difference in the world?
Oh, yes, definitely. Nothing in this world is impossible anymore.
How to do foresee the future of blogging?
It’s going to become a bigger trend than it already is.
What’s your suggestion for the new blogger’s?
New bloggers, never give up. And please, check your spelling and grammar. Use the spell checker frequently. It’s always a good thing if your readers actually understood what you were saying.
Do you have anything else to tell our readers?
Readers, no matter how boring or exciting a blog is, always read through and find something to learn from it. You can learn a lot about the blogger or the topics that he/she’s posting. Just don’t ignore the call of learning.
