Starbucks closing cafes to train Employees?

The struggling Seattle-based chain will use the unprecedented lockout time to train employees and baristas on how to better “connect with customers,” spokesman Brandon Borrman said. Their americanos and other espresso-based drinks will still suck (except for the fraps).
Any coffee connoisseur will attest to the burned taste of their espresso shots. Even the milk froth that they serve on their cappuccinos drop within just a couple of seconds.
In fact, they have publicly admitted in various books that their own consumer psychology studies show that people go the Starbucks stores not for the coffee but for the “experience of having an extended living room.” That is why most of their spending is not really catered to make their coffee taste better but to have the “experience” work for the customer (e.g. store renovations, in-store music, etc).
