Basic Tips on Whom to Buy Ads using Entrecard

This article would be discussing a few basic guidelines on whom to buy advertisements using Entrecards and how you can better convert traffic coming from Entrecard. These guidelines might not be applicable to you but I guess a few would certainly agree with this since this is based on logical reasoning and observation on various blog’s who’ve been using Entrecard. I’ve also checked on various articles that presented Entrecards benefits for me to align a few of my thoughts.
Catchy Graphics. Before buying advertisements or placing advertisements be sure to come up first with a very catchy graphics that tells what your blog is all about. People are attracted to graphics especially if they know what’s inside your blog. Entrecard graphics/logo would tell your brand if possible.
Landing Page. On entrecard settings do not place your direct ULR on it because it’s useless. You can’t convert that traffic into real money if you’ll keep on placing it to your direct ULR (www.yourname.com). As for my case I’ve created a landing page for that wherein affiliate programs are bait. So you have to create a pillar content first and use related affiliate programs and blend it. Affiliate programs would be useless if it’s not blended with your landing page. With this technique $$$ is not to difficult.
Position. Do not buy advertisements on blogs where entrecard widgets are placed at the bottom of the page or if the widget is not visible at the 1st or 2nd glance. Most likely your logo wouldn’t bee seen by their readers. If his/her blog has the traffic maybe worth considering, but please consider his layout if it’s clogged don’t advertise. Readers won’t stay long for a clogged theme and plus having your widget at the bottom, it’s not worth the credit investment.
$6.00 Welcome Survey After Free Registration!Traffic. Do not buy advertisements on blogs/sites that have less traffic. As for my case I use Alexa first before buying advertisements to not-so-known blogs/sites. If his traffic is below 100-200k it’s worth the investment. But consider item number 3 first before jumping in. Less trafficked blogs/sites are only worth the investment if they only require 2-10 credits and 5-10 days if visibility of your logo.
Authority. Buying advertisements to authority blogs like JohnChow, Turner etc. has always been worth the investment but spot is full, as always. Just check their blogs from time to time because advertising on them is really worth the investment. Especially that johnchow’s widget is quite visible.
Cheap Advertisements. Cheap advertisements (2-20 credits) that could give 4 – 10 days if availed have always been a good investment to new entrecard users or even for seasoned entrecard users. Some of this new entrecard users has already a traffic rank worth considering. In fact I’ve used this as one of my strategies since I can’t place my ads on authority blogs. So I flood my entrecard logo to various cheap entrecard users. But, I still have to use Alexa to check on their traffic. Below 200-300k traffic rank has always been cheap since most of them are so tired of dropp’n cards just like me. Still, they have a good traffic worth considering. Just picture this, if you could buy around 10-15 ads and most blogs/site has a traffic of below 200k considering also item number 3, I guess that’s a good traffic.
Considering you have set up those simple yet crucial things coupled with a very tempting, thought provoking pillar content blended with a good affiliate program, $$$ is just around the corner isn’t it?

Great tips. In my case, I usually base in these things:
1. Number of pages indexed in Google. The greater the number of pages, the higher the chance that your advertisement will have greater views.
2. Visibility of the Entrecard widget.
3. I always visit the latest Entrecard widgets. Yeah, cheaper advertisement, that is.

Thanks for the tip. But sometimes, price of adverts is deceiving. There are many instances that I’ve bought from an expensive site and received drops not worth the price.

that is why.. one should be vigilant on buying ads.. for me.. i use alexa to check their traffic.. then if its ok..ill visit their site and check the placement of their widget …
if widget is visible..coupled with a cheap price then..im good to go.

So based on the information provided by your article, I should definitely not buy an ad for your own website?
February 9th, 2008 at 1:10 am
exactly…
since i don’t have the traffic to bragged yet.. and my widget is 3 strokes away..

Authority doesn’t mean everything. I purchased an ad on JohnCow while he was still using EC and at a low price. I received 15 clicks. I’ve bought ads on lesser known blogs and guess what? I got more bang for my buck, even those who are higher priced.

that’s because.. ppl who visited at chow’s are there to enjoy chow’s humor coupled with the tips and tricks.. as for less known blogs.. i find it so lucrative also since you can exploit traffic of that blog using catchy teasers i.e. ec graphics plus ur humor and your blog topics..
sometimes it’s really hard to predict where these good traffic are lurking..worst, most of us run out of clues on what they want, is it information? etc…. of all which could be answered by providing a valuable content..

yeah, and placing the entrecard ad at the bottom is like saying, “Don’t advertise in my site”.
But then, some card droppers would always look for the “drop” sign. It could be the only thing visible to them, even if placed at the bottom.
March 18th, 2008 at 9:38 am
exactly, and this time.. i’m putting my entrecard wedgit below.. coz i’m having a hard time configuring the template.. once ready.. ill surely place that entrecard widget on top.. :)..
March 18th, 2008 at 10:39 am
unfortunately, it’s my ad at the bottom at the cost of 14 ec. ha ha. i’m actually just giving out ec here.
i bought a lot of cheap ad space. i think it works better that those highly trafficked blogs whose visitors don’t know much about those boxes in sidebars.
March 18th, 2008 at 11:33 am
then reap the benefits hhaa.a.and good luck.. was also thinking of removing this widget hihi..would it be a good idea? .. since its actually digg and se’s are the ones providing me the traffic..
March 18th, 2008 at 11:47 am
just keep the widget. it’s added traffic. and you can still convert that traffic into money. just like marhgil.
March 18th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
bitaw sad… pero for now ..it’s giving me a very low traffic.. another thing alsois that..im having a hard time mainting ec’s …im not even active anymore of buying more ads..
